John P. Doherty, age 79 of Canton passed away unexpectedly at home June 12th. Born in Boston’s South End, he graduated from Cathedral High School and Wentworth Institute of Technology with a degree in Electrical Engineering. After retiring, he ran a family Day Care Center in Canton with his wife Betty for many years. Beloved husband of the late Betty A. (Breor). Father of John P. Jr. of CA, Stephen F. of N. Attleboro & Teresa M. Doherty of Brookline. Brother of Helen Dullea & her husband William Magner of Peabody. Brother in law of Mary Ellen Falcione of Winchester. Also survived by 3 grandchildren & 9 nieces & nephews. Visting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Tuesday 5-8 pm. Funeral mass at St. John the Evangelist Church Canton Wednesday morning at 10:30. Burial Private.
