Isabel (Mendonca) Medeiros, 80, of Fall River & formerly a resident of Somerset since 1971, passed away June 13, 2012. She was the beloved wife of Manuel Nacimento Medeiros. Born in Furnas, São Miguel, Açores, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Estrella (Pacheco) Mendonca. Mrs. Medeiros was a homemaker at home, a parishioner of St. John of God Church, a member of its Women’s Guild, and a member of the Portuguese American Civic League. The family would like to thank the 3rd floor staff at Kimwell for their care and kindness they gave to their mother.
Besides her husband of Fall River, Isabel is survived by her Daughters: Anna-Paula Ferreira & Elizabeth Hyde (husband Jeffrey) all of Somerset; Grandchildren: Cynthia Ferreira, Timothy Ferreira, Jacquelyn Ferreira, & Madison Hyde; Great granddaughter: Cloey Isabel Rodrigues; & several nieces & nephews. She was the sister of the late John, Manuel, Joseph Mendonca, Eugenia Raposo, & Anna de Conceicão Mendonca.
Her funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, INC. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on SATURDAY at 8:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John of God Church at 9:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery, Somerset. Calling hours on FRIDAY 4-8 P.M.
