Andover, MA - Shirley (Downs) Seero, 90 of Andover, MA, passed away on Wednesday, June 13th at the Mary Immaculate Nursing/Restorative Center. She was born in Chicago, Illinois and was the daughter of the late John and Ceena (Lundgren) Downs.
Mrs. Seero was raised and educated in Chicago, Illinois and moved to Andover with her husband Edward V. Seero in 1953 to raise her family. She had worked for Phillips Andover Academy, a position she loved for many years, filled with wonderful friendships.
Shirley was a devoted mother whose joy was found in her family and friends. After raising her four children, she enjoyed retirement, especially her membership in the Sweet Adelines chorus. Her sweet, friendly personality will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Mrs. Seero was pre deceased by her beloved husband, Edward V. Seero, Jr. and is survived by her daughter, Michelle LaFleur of Oviedo, Florida: three sons, Edward Seero III and his wife Jean of Alto Vista, Texas, Dana Seero and his wife Kathy of Boston, MA and Scott and his wife Sally of Andover, MA and her beloved grandchildren, Edward IV, Steven, Katie, Christopher, Sarah, Elizabeth, Abigail and Jonathan Seero, Jeffrey, Kelly and Chelsea LaFleur. Shirley is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Chloe and Claire Eggers.
The family would like to thank the amazing staff of the Mary Immaculate Nursing/Restorative Center for their kindness and compassion while caring for Shirley.

Her funeral service was celebrated in the South Church, 41 Central Street, Andover, Tuesday, June 19, 2012, at 10 AM. Many relatives and friends respectfully attended. Calling hours were held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover, Monday, June 18, 2012, from 4 to 8 PM. Burial was in Spring Grove Cemetery in Andover.
