Hugh Dorsey Stephens, 77, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, April 29, 2004, at Dorminy Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held at 4 P.M., Monday, May 3, 2004 at Mt. Paron Primitive Baptist Church and Cemetery, Berrien County, with Rev. C.A. Hulett officiating.
Mr. Stephens was born in Nashville, Georgia, to the late Charlie N. and Juanita Jenkins Stephens. He lived in the community most of his life. He was a former Lineman in Dougherty County for Georgia Power Company and a Painting Contractor. Mr. Stephens served in the United States Army during World War II. He was of the Primitive Baptist faith.
Mr. Stephens is survived by his four daughters: Freida Palacios, Deborah Hulett and Teresa Stephens, all of Tifton and Donna Hill, Brookfield; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren; three sisters: Jeanette Cleghorn, Albany, Jewell Roberts, Fitzgerald and Frances Teams, Telfair County; one brother: Donald H. Stephens, Fitzgerald. He was preceded in death by four grandchildren and one brother.
