Obituary

Lillian C. (Godett) Studley, a 52 year resident of Wakefield, passed into eternal life on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose following an extended illness. She was 90 years old.

Lillian was born in Somerville on July 20, 1921, a daughter of the late Joseph D. Godett and Rose E. (Surette) Godett. She grew up in Saugus where she attended Saugus Public Schools and graduated from Saugus High School in 1939. Lillian worked as a clerk for Eastern Mass. Railways many years ago before becoming a Mail Clerk for the United States Postal Service where she worked at the Wakefield Post Office for several years. She was a homemaker who enjoyed caring for her husband and 2 sons. She enjoyed doing crafts, knitting and crocheting and traveling to every continent in the world. Lillian was a member of Most Blessed Sacrament Church Women's Guild and was a volunteer at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital for over 25 years.

Lillian is the beloved wife of the late Joseph N. Studley. She is the devoted mother of Donald J. Studley and his wife Diane of Saugus and Thomas P. Studley and his partner Cynthia Conlin of Vermont. She is the loving Gram to Ryan and Kevin Studley. She is the beloved sister of the late Irvin and Edward Godett.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Lillian's Funeral on Friday, June 15, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. from The Carr Funeral Home, 1159 Main St., Wakefield/Melrose line, followed by her Funeral Mass in The Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield, at 10:30 a.m. Interment at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody. Visiting hours will be on Thursday, June 14, 2012 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
