Pia E.M. LaCorcia (Iacono), died Thursday in the Winchester Nursing Center. She was 90.
Born and raised in East Boston, she was the daughter of the late Michael and the late Giuseppina Iacono. Pia was a long-time East Boston resident and moved to Medford 20 years ago. Before her retirement she worked with the City of Boston for 40 years as an official in the Licensing Department.
She was the beloved wife of the late John A. LaCorcia who died in 1997. she was a devoted sister to Lydia Coons of NM and the late Francis Iacono. She was a loving aunt to Linda Sneider, Michael Iacono, both of Medford, Christine Francis of PA, Allison Beddingfield of TX, George Coons and Carol Coons both of NM.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 9 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Relatives and friends may visit with the family Monday morning at 8 AM at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, Medford.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be sent to the charity of one´s choice.
