Margaret E. Cote, 99, of 64 Gilford Avenue died Sunday morning February 24, at the Lakes Region General Hospital. She was born in Concord, NH January 21, 1903 the daughter of Phillip and Mary Ellen (Aldrich) Blanchette and has been a resident of Laconia most of her life and the widower of Romeo (Chic) Cote who died in July of 1967.
She was employed by New England Telephone Co. for over 40 years, in charge of telephone information. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church and a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America.
Survivors include 10 nieces and nephews and many grand nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held at the Simoneau & Lambert Funeral Home, 139 Church Street, Laconia on Wednesday, February 27 from 3 to 6 PM. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia on Thursday, February 28 at 10 AM. Burial will follow in the family lot at Calvary Cemetery, Concord NH. Memorial donations may be made to Charity one’s choice.
