
Phyllis A. (Parmenter) Packard age 90, of Brockton, died Saturday June 9, 2012 at the home of her daughter under the care of her family and hospice after a brief illness. She was the loving wife of the late Sherman H. Packard. Phyllis was born in Brockton and raised on the South Shore, one of thirteen children of the late Homer and Mary (Walsh) Parmenter.
Phyllis was a stay at home mother devoted to her family. She loved trips to Foxwoods, playing cards and traveling. She was an avid Red Sox fan and had been a member of the WAMS during and following WWII. Phyllis will be remembered as an easy going lady whose true joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Phyllis was the devoted mother of Edward A. Packard and his wife Joyce of Plymouth and Mary G. Mercurio and her husband Gary of Brockton. She leaves six grand children Gary, Marybeth, David, Darin, Brook and Diana and several great grandchildren. Her 12 siblings have pre-deceased her.
Funeral Mass in Christ the King Church 42 Wendell Ave. Brockton Wednesday at 9 AM. Burial will follow in Coweeset Cemetery. Visiting hours are omitted.
