Obituary

Dr. Edward G. “Sonny” Crealese, chiropractic physician, of Jacksonville, Florida and formerly of Brockton, Massachusetts, passed away on April 29, 2004 after a long illness. Born and raised in Brockton, son of the late Edward J. and Mary G. (Adiletto) Crealese. Graduate of Brockton High School Class of 1953. He served in the United States Army in the 31st infantry in Korea from 1954 to 1955. He was graduated from the National College of Chiropractic in Chicago, Illinois in 1961. Dr. Crealese practiced in Vermont from 1962 until 1973 when he returned to the Brockton area where he practiced until 1988. He was active in the Massachusetts Chiropractic Society having ultimately served two terms as president during which time chiropractic patients gained the right to receive coverage from Massachusetts Blue Cross and Blue Shield. He was twice designated “Chiropractor of the Year” by the membership of the Massachusetts Chiropractic Society for outstanding service rendered to the profession. He moved to Jacksonville, Florida in 1988 where he practiced until his retirement in February 2000. While living in Jacksonville he passionately reawakened his music talent playing his clarinet and saxophone in several local jazz and swing bands.

He often stated that he considered his greatest blessings in life to be his three children followed by the privilege of having been able to serve his patients and the enjoyment of having been able to play the music that he loved. He deeply loved his children. In life he helped so many. His guidance and encouragement were frequently sought. In the face of his long struggle he remained courageous and through fervent prayer he sought forgiveness and mercy. He left us at peace with himself and with God, who now comforts him forever.

He is survived by two sons, Michael E. Crealese of Stoughton, MA and Dr. Steven J. Crealese of Matthews, NC and by one daughter, Gina M. Crealese of Bridgewater, MA. He is also survived by a sister Mary Carnabuci of Brockton, MA.
