William G. Cofrin, Jr., 61, of Londonderry, NH, passed away while a resident of Merrimack Valley Hospice Home in Haverhill, MA. Born on June 30, 1950 in Winchester, MA, he is the son of William G. Cofrin, Sr. of South Grafton, MA, and the late Gertrude T. (Barker) St. George, formerly of Henniker, NH. Bill was a Veteran of the Vietnam War while serving in the U.S. Navy. He was an AP Psychology Teacher and Assistant Lacrosse Coach at Pinkerton Academy. He loved boating, camping with his two sons, raising cain in the water, and feeling the sunshine on his face. His wonderful sense of humor, and knack for making the simple things fun, will be with us forever. He was a wonderful Father, Husband, Brother, Teacher, Coach, and Friend.
Bill is survived by his wife Nancy (Fontaine) Cofrin, two sons, Shawn Cofrin, and wife-to-be Andrea Duffy, both of Clifton Park, NY, and Bryan Cofrin and wife Tiffany of Hamden, CT; three brothers, Wayne Cofrin and wife Judi of Goffstown, NH, Rusty Cofrin and wife Shirrill and niece Nicole and nephews Brendan and Timothy, all of Concord, NH, and Michael Cofrin and wife Ines and nephew Liam and nieces Lilly and Stephanie, all of Heidelberg, Germany; and one sister, June Cofrin Bowers and husband David of Henniker, NH and nephew Ian Gregory of Portland, OR.
Bill was pre deceased by his mother Gertrude T. St. George, step-father Rene St. George, step-mother Patricia Cofrin, and daughter Kerin Cofrin.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank the awesome staff at Dana Farber in Boston, MA and Londonderry, NH, as well as the Elliott Cancer Center in Londonderry, NH. The staff at the Merrimack Valley Hospice Home in Haverhill, MA was outstanding.
Calling hours were on Monday June 11, 2012 from 3 – 8:00 pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 am at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Ave., Derry, NH. Burial with honors followed at 12:30 pm at the NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH.
