Lois Burns, a resident of Brooksby Village for the past 12 years, formerly of Medford and beloved daughter of the late Lewis S. and Mary E. (Harris) Burns died at Brooksby Village in Peabody on Saturday, May 19, 2012. She was 92 years old.
Lois was born in Boston on December 12, 1919. Miss Burns was a graduate of Wheelock College and earned her Masters from Boston University. She was a school teacher for the Medford Public School system for more than 30 years and loved the Hillside School where she taught Kindergarten through second grade.
In her spare time she greatly enjoyed the company of her family and friends, and especially her summers on Merchant's Island in Gloucester.
She is survived by her loving sister Barbara of Peabody and many loving cousins.
Her memorial service was held in the chapel at Brooksby Village, Peabody, on Saturday, June 9, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. Many relatives and friends were in attendance. Interment was private.
