John Salvo, 92

Dateline: Norton, MA

John Salvo, 92, of Norton, formerly of Taunton and Easton, passed away in the presence of his loving family on Friday, June 1, 2012 at the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital.
He was the beloved husband of the late Helen (Moulton) Salvo. Mr. and Mrs. Salvo were wed on July 4, 1943.
Born in Belmont, MA on December 31, 1919 he spent his early childhood living in Belmont, where he was also educated. He later moved to Boston and then to Easton in the 1950’s where he and his late wife Helen raised there family.
Mr. Salvo was a retired member of the Teamsters Union having worked as a truck driver for 30 years prior to retiring.
For the past 22 years, John had made his home in Norton. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed cooking, gardening, and playing cribbage.
He is survived by his devoted children;. John M. Salvo of Florida, Guy R. Salvo of Colorado, George Salvo of Maine, Mary B. Lyons and her husband Dan of Florida, Norton Selectman Robert S. Salvo and his wife Dawn of Norton and the late Judy Perez. He was pre-deceased by his siblings and is also survived by his cherished 16 grandchildren as well as several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Tuesday, June 5th at 10:00 A.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton. Burial will follow in the South Easton Cemetery, Easton.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday June 4th from 5 -8 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home.
