Obituary
Mr. Rivers died Tuesday afternoon at his home under the care of hospice after a brief illness.He was born in Whitman son of the late LaRoyce and Edith (Redfern) Rivers. He was raised and educated on Cape Cod. Since 1995 he has been a resident of Pocasset and Englewood, Florida. Previously he had lived in Brockton for 50 years.
During WW II Mr. Rivers served in the US Navy in the South Pacific. Before his retirement he was a truck driver for Bourne Transportation in Brockton and Burrill Trucking.
Mr. Rivers had been a member of the Bertocci Club in Brockton and the Whitman VFW
In addition to his wife Barbara he is survived by a son David P. Rivers and his wife Paula of Brockton and a granddaughter Pamela Rivers of Brockton.
He is also survived by two brothers and a sister Roy Rivers of Orlando, Florida; Franklin Rivers of Worcester and Barbara Whitehead of Dennis. Also many nieces and nephewsHe was the husband of the late Rose C. (Marochino) Rivers
