John Czaban, 93, of New Bedford died Tuesday May 29, 2012 at St. Luke's Hospital after a period of declining health surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Jane O. (Wunschel) Czaban.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Joseph Czaban and Katarzyna (Wach) Czaban Blaszczak, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
Mr. Czaban was formerly employed as an inspector of printer's blanket for Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for 36 years.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy. He was a former member of the Goodyear Senior Citizens.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Peggie Czaban-Souza and her husband Robert of New Bedford; and two nieces, Janice Arruda and Marcia St. Pierre.
He was the brother of the late Alice Gray.
His Funeral Service will be on Friday at 11 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 6-8 PM. For directions and guestbook, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
