SO. BERWICK, ME - Barbara Ann (Littlefield) Hildreth, age 69, who was raised in Tewksbury, MA, died peacefully in her home, surrounded by her husband and son. She was the beloved wife of Daniel W. Hildreth IV and was anticipating their 40th wedding anniversary and her birthday on June 18th.
Barbara was born in Boston, daughter of the late Richard A. and Alice M. (McEachern) Littlefield. After living part of her life in Dorchester, she and her family moved to Tewksbury in 1955. As a graduate of Tewksbury Memorial High School Class of 1960, she attended and graduated from Saint John's Hospital Medical Technicians program and rose to become the Supervisor of the Hospital's Blood Bank. While working at Wang Laboratories, she met her future husband Daniel. After the birth of their son, she became a stay at home mom. After living in Nashua, NH, she moved to Derry, NH giving birth to her son, then onto Weare, NH and then 17 years in Wrentham, MA. Later, she retired to So. Berwick, Maine.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her son, Daniel W. Hildreth V, and his spouse Brian Dellascio of No. Chelmsford; a sister, Anne Marie Burgess and her husband Chester of Tewksbury, brothers Thomas Littlefield of Londonderry, NH, and Stephen Littlefield and his wife Cindy (Bond) of Tyngsboro, and five nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral Mass was celebrated Tuesday, June 5, in St. William's Church, Tewksbury. Burial followed at Tewksbury Cemetery. Memorials to the Wentworth Douglas Cancer Center, c/o Foundation Office, 789 Central Ave., Dover, NH 03829 will be appreciated.
