Obituary

Barbara J. (Foote) Stinson, a 47 year resident of Wakefield and formerly of Malden, passed into eternal life on Tuesday, May 29, 2012 at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose following an extended illness. She was 76 years old.

Barbara was born in Malden on September 15, 1935, a daughter to the late Albert and Mahala "Hazel" (Wagg) Foote. Barbara grew up in Malden where she attended Malden Public Schools and graduated from Malden High School in 1953. She then went on to business school for 2 years. Barbara worked for several companies before moving to Wakefield in 1965 and began working at Wakefield Town Hall in the data processing department before becoming a secretary for the Town of Wakefield Police Chief. Barbara enjoyed traveling to Hawaii and vacationing at Alton Bay, New Hampshire on Lake Winnipesaukee. She enjoyed water aerobics at Rt. 1 Racquet & Fitness Center and visitng Fisherman's Wharf in Swampscott.

Barbara is the beloved wife of the late Leonard E. Stinson. She is the devoted mother of Richard F. "Rick" Stinson (Wakefield Public Works Director) and his wife Jeanne of Wakefield and Jean Marie Stinson of Wakefield. She is the loving aunt of her niece Kim and nephew Kenny. Also her beloved dog Daisy.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Barbara's Funeral Service on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at 10 a.m. in The Carr Funeral Home, 1159 Main St. Wakefield/Melrose line. Interment at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield. Visiting hours will be on Friday, June 1, 2012 from 4 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
