** PLEASE NOTE CHANGE IN SERVICE TIME **

Margaret I. “Peggie” (Voelker) Brennan, 87, a Sherborn resident for 41 years, passed away peacefully in her home overlooking her beloved Farm Pond on May 29, 2012. She was the devoted wife of the late Albert T. Brennan who passed away in 2009 and with whom she shared 63 years of marriage.
Born in New York, the daughter of the late Bernard and Margaret (Rutherford) Voelker, Mrs. Brennan was raised in Hollis, N.Y. where she was educated in PS 35 and graduated from Andrew Jackson High School. She went on to study at Adelphi College (now Adelphi University) on Long Island, N.Y. and earned her B.S. degree in Business Administration. While at Adelphi, Mrs. Brennan was a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority and was listed in “Who’s Who in American Colleges”. She married Albert Brennan in 1946 and together began a love story that would last 63 years. In 1970 they founded ESCO Tool Company, Inc. of Holliston and she became an integral part of the executive management team and was a fixture in the daily operation of the business. She settled in Sherborn in 1971 and became a vital member of the community always involved in community affairs and organizations. A longstanding member and Deacon of the Pilgrim Church in Sherborn, Mrs. Brennan was known to be a pillar of the church who willingly served on every committee and welcomed leadership roles. Most important to Mrs. Brennan was her role as wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a consummate event organizer who took great pride in lovingly organizing trips and outings with her family. Mrs. Brennan enjoyed travelling the world, attending Broadway shows and theatre, and with her beloved Al, enjoyed dining almost every evening at the Sherborn Inn where certain menu items that were no longer available would always be specially prepared for them. Known for her kindness and thoughtfulness, she also had a special love of dogs and adopted numerous companion animals throughout the years.
She is survived by her devoted children, Mark B. Brennan of Milford, Christina M. Winterfeldt and her husband Craig of Sherborn, Matthew T. Brennan and his wife Sandra of Wayland, Margaret R. Moruzzi and her husband James of Sherborn, and Sara C. Baker and her husband Roger of Norfolk. She was the cherished grandmother of Maggie Winterfeldt, Alexander, Austin, and Brooke Brennan, Benjamin, Mark, Zachary, and Megan Moruzzi, and Christina and Luke Baker; dear sister of Barbara Lawson and her husband Robert of Huntington, N.Y.; and cousin of Ruth Forgan of Sarasota, FL. The Brennan family would also like to recognize all those that lovingly cared for Al and Peggie in their later years.
