LEOMINSTER: Catherine V. “Kay” (Perla) Mann died peacefully in the care and comfort of her family on Friday, May 25, 2012 at the Hospice by the Sea Care Center in Boca Raton, Florida following a brief illness.
She was born in Leominster on March 5, 1921 the daughter of the late Vincenzo Perla and Ottavia (Piccolomini) Perla.
Catherine is survived by her loving husband of 60 years Ronald I. Mann, Sr. of Boca Raton, FL formerly of Leominster. She was the beloved and devoted mother of Ronald Isaac Mann and his partner Tim Quinn both of Boston and Boca Raton, FL and James M. Mann of Boston. She is also survived by her closest and dearest friend Ginny Korman of Boca Raton, FL as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was predeceased by her eight siblings.
Catherine has been a long time resident of Lincoln Terrace in Leominster and was educated in the Leominster school system. She and her husband Ronald moved to Boca Raton, FL a few years ago. In her earlier years she was associated with Foster-Grant in Leominster. She was a member of St. Anna’s Parish and active with the Womens Auxiliary of Saladini at St. Anna’s Parish. She loved to spend time at the beach, dancing, all types of music and especially going to breakfast with family and friends. She was a fashionable and well dressed lady that lit up the room when she entered and will be greatly missed by all the lives that she touched. Her greatest gift was the love she shared with her husband, her sons, her family and her many friends.
Visitations will be held on Monday, June 4, 2012 from 9:00 to 11:00 am at the Wright-Roy Funeral Home, 109 West Street, Leominster.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM at Saint Anna’s Parish, 199 Lancaster Street, Leominster.
Private interment will be held at a later date at Saint Leo’s Cemetery in Leominster.
In lieu of flowers her family suggests that memorial gifts in Catherine’s memory be sent to Hospice-By-The-Sea Care Center, 1531 West Palmetto Park, Boca Raton, Florida 33486 would be greatly appreciated.
