Obituary

Easton - Lillian Evelyn (King) Segrist 89, died suddenly on Saturday May 26. Lillian was born in Whitman, MA on November 16, 1922, daughter of the late Calvin T. King and Ethel M. (Burke) King.

Lillian married on October 30, 1945 and spent over 33 years as a mother and homemaker. Prior to her marriage, she was a member of the Women’s Reserve of the United States Coast Guard (SPARS) in Boston, MA and New York City, NY. Lillian enjoyed traveling, meeting people, music and her special pets. She volunteered for nursing homes, babysitting and the Nantucket Lightship. She lived for many years in Alexandria, VA and Venice, FL. Lillian enjoyed outdoor activities including going to the beach, swimming, riding bicycles and walking.

She is pre-deceased by her former husband Silas Segrist of Venice, FL; her son Steve Segrist of Aurora, CO; her sister Norma King of Abington, MA; and her brothers Charles, Calvin and Frank King.

She is survived by her brother Richard King and his wife Beverly of Charlotte, NC; her son, Ward King Segrist and his wife Carolyn of Earlysville, VA; her grandsons, Bruce King Stallings and his wife Susan, of Altona, NY and Sean Eric Stallings and his wife Kelly of Manchester, MA; great granddaughter Taylor Stallings of Altona, NY; and great grandson Tom Corrow and his wife Rochelle, of Plattsburgh, NY. She is also survived many nieces and nephews.

Her services, as well as her sister Norma’s, will be held on Friday June 1 at 11:00 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel (Rte. 58 at the Rotary Circle) Whitman. Burial will follow in the Colebrook Cemetery, Whitman. Visitation will be Thursday May 31st from 4:30-7:30 PM.
