Obituary

Henri L. Carpentier, 71, of Old River Rd., Manville, died Saturday evening at Landmark Medical Center. He was the loving companion of 14 years to Marie-Anne (Cournoyer) Blanchard of Manville.
Born in Woonsocket, Henri was the son of the late Henry and Doris (Benoit) Carpentier.
Mr. Carpentier was an active Life Member of the Woonsocket B.P.O E. Lodge 850. At the time of his passing Henri was employed as the facilities manager at the Elks. In his earlier years he worked for the Walnut Hill Bowling Alley and was also a self-employed tradesman in the area.
Henri enjoyed trips to the beach, especially in the Newport area, and was a skilled carpenter.
Henri lived according to the virtues of the Elks and was always willing to help those in need.
In addition to his companion Marie-Anne, he was the brother of Lorraine Parenteau, and her husband Roland, of Woonsocket and is survived by two nephews Denis Parenteau of Attleboro and Paul Parenteau of Pascoag and their families.
Henri is also survived by Marie-Anne’s sons who considered him their best friend, Michael Beauchmin, and his wife Julie, of PA, Eric Beauchemin of Manville, David Beauchemin of Nashua NH, and Freddie Blanchard, and his companion Heather, of Tiverton, and his two additional children. He is also survived by four grandchildren Alec, Deegan, Lanie, and Aidan.
His funeral will be Thursday at 8:30 am from the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. James Church, Division St., Manville. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 4-8 pm. Flowers are welcome or memorial donations may be made to the Elks National Foundation, 2750 North Lakeview Ave., Chicago, IL. 60614-2256.
