Margaret “Skippy” Mulkey, 68, of Irwin County, died Saturday, May 26, 2012, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Monday, May 28, 2012, at the Big Creek Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne McCrimmon and the Rev. Ed Reeves officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Sunday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Mulkey was born April 19, 1944 in Turner County, Georgia to the late Brentice Thomas & Mary Lucinda Passmore Hogan. She was a 1962 graduate of Turner County High School and had lived in Turner and Irwin Counties all of her life. She was a former secretary for Frank Owens Paving Company and Thompson Insurance Company. She was a member of Big Creek Missionary Baptist Church where she played the piano and organ as needed.
Skippy is survived by her husband of almost 50 years: Bobby Mulkey of Irwin County; son: Robert Arthur Mulkey of Irwin County; daughter and son-in-law: Robin Mulkey Taylor & Wayne of Fitzgerald; five grandchildren: Amanda Mulkey, Kendall Adams, Kelli Mulkey Erskine & Lee, Amber Poole, and Corey Evans; three great-granddaughters: Brooklyn Jaylea Gordon, Toni Leeann Erskine, and Layla Harrell; and one sister and brother-in-law: Faye & Ray Freeman of Swainsboro.
