TAUNTON – Maria Almentina (Rebelo) Couto, wife of the late Antonio Santos Couto, died at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston on May 26, 2012.
She was 86.
Born and raised in Santa Maria, Azores, Mrs. Couto was the daughter of the late Jacinto and Sizaltina (Ferreira) Rebello.
She moved to this area from the Azores in 1974.
Mrs. Couto enjoyed music, singing, playing the guitar, and traveling, especially cruising.
She also liked to read and watch soap operas.
She was a communicant of St. Anthony Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Zita Rocha of Taunton, Delminda Andrade of Ontario, Canada and Delia Donato of Bridgewater; five grandchildren; one great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Couto was also the mother of the late Armindo Couto.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton, on Wednesday May 30th at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 9 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 29th from 5 to 8 p.m.
