TEWKSBURY - Paul W. Brennan, age 94, the patriarch of a well known family of eight daughters, died Saturday morning May 26, at Woodbrier Nursing Care Center in Wilmington. He was the beloved husband for 60 years of Mary V. (Oliver) Brennan, who died in 2004.
Born in Boston, July 1, 1917, the son of the late Edward E. and Mary (O'Rourke) Brennan. Raised in Hyde Park, and graduated from Northeastern University with advanced degrees in engineering.
He retired in 1999, after a long and distinguished career as a Engineer at the Smith and Nephew company. He moved to the Silver Lake section of Tewksbury in 1949, where he and his wife raised their family of eight daughters.
He was a member of the former St. Mary's Parish community, and among founding family members of St. Dorothy's Church in Wilmington.
He is survived by his daughters Mary Alpert of Tewksbury, Paula Dolan and her husband Michael of Ashburnham, Jean Brennan and her husband Barry Allen of Scottsdale, AZ, Patricia Toye and her husband William of Danvers, Dorothy Audette and her husband Dennis of Tewksbury, Frances Brennan and her husband Gregory McCulty of Lakeland, FL, Agnes Brennan of Chelmsford, Julie Abrahamson and her husband Robert of So. Carolina; seventeen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
