Obituary

HAVERHILL: Anna G. Dubois (Wood) Taft, 96, died Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at her home with her loving family by her side. She was the wife of the late Francis A. Taft with whom she shared forty-three years of marriage with before his death in 1980.
She was born in Haverhill on October 21, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Philip J. Dubois (Wood) and Laura Deschamps Dubois. Anna was a lifelong resident of Haverhill and was a graduate of Haverhill High School class of 1935. She was an active parishioner and daily communicant of Sacred Hearts Church in Bradford. She was a familiar face to many children over the years working as the “lunch lady” in the Haverhill School system.
Anna’s family would like to thank the Palliative Care Team of Merrimack Valley Hospice for their wonderful care and support they have given to their mother over the last year.
Anna is survived by her two devoted children, Ann P. Taft of Arlington, VT and Robert P. Taft and his wife, Suzanne of Bradford; four grandchildren, Jeffrey P. Taft of Arlington, VA, Gene A. Taft and his wife, Molly of Silver Springs, MD, Patrick M.Taft and his wife, Jennifer of Haverhill and Jill A. Brown and her husband, Christopher of Bradford; one great-granddaughter, Anna Adele Taft; her daughter-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Taft of Haverhill. She was also predeceased by her son, James F. Taft; her brothers, Leo, Alfred, Roland and Ernest Dubois; her sisters, Laura Dubois Kimball, Gertrude Dubois Thibault and Marie Dubois Bekszia.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday in the Sacred Hearts Church Chapel, 165 S. Main St., Bradford at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday in the Linnehan-Grondin Funeral Home, 52 Salem St., Bradford from 4 – 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hilldale Ave., Haverhill. At Anna’s request she would like flowers to be omitted and to have donations made in her memory to the Sacred Hearts School, 31 S. Chestnut St., Bradford, MA 01835 or to the Sacred Hearts Church Food Pantry, 48 S. Chestnut St., Bradford, MA 01835.
