Sylvia Mary Ballas Byers, 75 years currently from Roslindale, MA, died Tuesday May 22, 2012. Beloved wife of Stanley A. Byers, and loving mother to Stanley Sylvan Byers of Washington, D.C. and Elizabeth Sucher and son-in-law, Adam Sucher and cherished granddaughter Evelyn Sucher also of Roslindale as well as many close family and friends. Born and raised in New Orleans, LA, she lived in Muncie, Indiana for 32 years before moving to Roslindale in 2007. She was trained in nursing at Mercy Hospital and worked at Charity Hospital, both in New Orleans. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 25, 2012 at 11, preceded by visitation period between 9 and 11a.m. with the Spirit of Life Catholic Community at the Congregational Church of Weston/UCC at 130 Newton St., Weston, MA. An additional service followed by burial will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 29, at Greenwood Cemetery in New Orleans with a visitation period proceeding from 9-11am.
