Richard J. Barry, 53, of Dartmouth died May 22, 2012 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in Stoneham, the son of Alice J. (Ahern) Barry of Medford and the late James H. Barry, he was raised in Medford and lived in Wilmington, before moving to Dartmouth in 2001.
He was the proprietor of Pier Fish.
Survivors include his mother; his son, Richard A. Barry of Wilmington; his daughter, Jessica Barry of Dartmouth; his former wife, Jane M. (Cirino) Barry of Beverly; 3 brothers, Michael Barry and his wife Nancy of Acushnet, Kevin Barry and his wife Gloria of Wilmington, and John Barry and his wife Luanne of Medford; 3 sisters, Jean Barry-Sutherland and her husband Thomas of Medford, Maryellen Trane and her husband David of Wilmington, and Marian Barry-Ravagni and her husband Hugh of Saugus; a sister-in-law, Linda Barry of Abington; and he was adored by many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late James Barry.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 26th at 10 AM in St. Joseph's Church, 114 High St., Medford. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. Visiting hours will be held on Friday, May 25th from 4-8 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 9376, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
