Methuen, Ma. – Jean “Jerry” M. Bedard, 88, of Methuen, died Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at the Bedford VA Medical Center in Bedford, MA. He was the loving husband of Lillian (Audesse) Bedard, to whom he was married for 65 years.
Jerry was born in Methuen on June 9, 1923, the son of John and Irene (Bergeron) Bedard. He attended Methuen schools, graduated from Methuen High School, and served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He worked for Oxford Paper for twenty five years and then for Audesse Construction in Andover until his retirement. He was also a communicant of St. Monica’s Church. In his free time, he enjoyed traveling and flower gardening with his wife.
In addition to his wife, Jerry is survived by three sons, Gerard Bedard and his wife Lynn of Methuen, Donald Bedard and his wife Deborah of Florida, and David Bedard of Methuen; five sisters Lillian Croteau, Cecile Checovich, Ida Harvey, Theresa Parent and her husband Gerry, and Mary Jane Pepin and her husband Richard; two brothers Leo Bedard and Robert Bedard and his wife Raise; five grandchildren, Stacy, wife of Robert Preston, Lora, wife of Daniel Donovan, Anthony Bedard, Victoria, wife of Michael Shuman, and Michael Bedard; eight great grandchildren, Jacob, Jared, Madelyn, Gabrielle, Patrick, Kaden, Carter, and Jonah. He was predeceased by a brother, Frederick Bedard.
A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Tuesday morning at 9 o’clock in Saint Monica’s Church with burial to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Lawrence.
Friends will be warmly received on Monday from 2-6 P.M. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
