ELIZABETH M. "YAYA" (DURFEE) COBURN, age 89, of Hingham, passed away peacefully, in the company of her family on Tuesday, May 22nd, 2012. She lived in Hingham for most of her life and was a longtime active member of the Hingham Senior Center, as well as a former employee of Armstrong Corporation for over 30 years.
Beloved mother of Alice E. and her husband George Kerrigan of Stratham, NH and the late Steven Coburn; grandmother of the late Kathleen "Kathie" King. She is survived by her grandchildren; Janine, Cheri, Steven, Aimee and Tanya; and great grandchildren, Griffin, Marshall, Cooper, Andrea, James, Alessia, Juliana, Hailey, Matthew, Lucas and Ella. Yaya enjoyed life and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her friends.
A Memorial Service will be conducted on Friday, May 25th at 11 AM at the First Baptist Church, 85 Main St., Hingham. Relatives and friends may visit at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham on Thursday evening from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Hospice of the South Shore, 55 Fogg Rd., So. Weymouth, MA 02190.
The interment is private.
