Obituary

Newington, Connecticut – James F. Clayton, 86 died Sunday May 20, 2012 at home with his family by his side.
Mr. Clayton was born in Lawrence, Ma. December 2, 1925 the son of Horace and Amy Lynn (Hoyle) Clayton. He proceeded to graduate from Lawrence High School.
For many years he was a Telephone Worker with the former New England Telephone company prior to his retirement, and was a member of the Pioneer Workers of America.
During world war II he served his country in the United States Marine Corp. before being honorably discharged at wars end.
He was a former member of the Elks Lodge # 65 B.P.O.E. in Lawrence.
The widower of Virginia L. (Watson) Clayton James is survived by daughters Maureen P. and husband John W. Abraham of Methuen, Amy L. Roberts of Newington, Ct., a son James B. and his wife Gloria Clayton of Texas, grandchildren Laura and husband Mike Deplacido, Kevin Abraham and wife Elyse, Mark Abraham, Daniel, Matthew, and Meghan Roberts. He is also survived by 3 greatgrandchildren.
Private funeral services will take place from the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen with interment to follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence.
