Augusta, GA – Capt. Robert Hite Simms, US Army (Ret), 86, husband of Mrs. Rose Marie Simms, entered into rest on Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center.
There will be no local services at this time.
A native of Centerville, PA, Capt Simms retired after 20 years of service in the US Army, where he received a Battlefield Commission Award. Mr. Simms also retired from Proctor and Gamble after 20 years. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Additional survivors include, his three sons, Dr.
Steven Simms (Christine) of West Chester, PA, Eric Simms (Cindy) of Millen, GA, Craig Simms of Martinez, GA; two daughters, Laura Hession (John) of Dublin, GA, Julie Mann (Dario) of Evans, GA, two brothers, John Simms (Zoann), William Simms (Jenney); two sisters, Katherine Lewis, Doris Clifton, nineteen grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
