Obituary

Rosamond (Park) Conn, 83, of New Bedford died May 21, 2012 at St. Luke's Hospital surrounded by her family after a period of declining health that never robbed her of her spirit, grace or sense of humor.
She was the wife of the late Andrew C. Conn, Jr.
Born and raised in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Kenneth and Madelin (Wyatt) Park, she lived in Dartmouth most of her life.
Mrs. Conn was a member of Smith Mills Congregational Church and an active member of the Tri Delta women's group and health ministries at the church.
She was a graduate of New Bedford High school, class of 1946 and St. Luke's School of Nursing in 1950. She was formerly employed as a registered nurse at St. Luke's Hospital and New Bedford Jewish Convalescent Home for thirty years before retiring in 1976 due to an injury.
Mrs. Conn was a past member of the Rainbow Girls and a member of the Rainbow Majority Club for many years.
She will be remembered by all who knew her as a person who loved life to the fullest. She had a very strong will and a never give up attitude. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and her extended family at Hathaway Manor.
Mrs. Conn was an avid New England Patriots fan and enjoyed crossword puzzles and bingo.
Survivors include a son, Douglas W. Conn and his wife Heidi of Turner, ME; a daughter, Martha Conn Stubbs and her husband Scott of Dartmouth; a sister, Loretta Dillies of Westport; 4 grandchildren, Wayne Conn and his wife Katie, Gretchen Conn, Megan Stubbs and Sarah Stubbs; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Natalie P. Prefontaine.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 25th at 10 AM in Smith Mills Congregational Church. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours Thursday, May 24th from 4-8 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Kenneth C. Park Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o New Bedford High School 230 Hathaway Blvd. New Bedford, MA 02740 attn. Headmaster.
