Obituary

Alexandra A. "Sandra" Lavallee, 80, of Marion, died Friday February 22, 2002 at Sacred Heart Home in New Bedford after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Adolphe A. Lavallee, and daughter of the late Casimir and Anna (Sczygelska) Sztuba.

Mrs. Lavallee was born in Worcester and had lived there for many years until moving to the Southeastern Massachusetts area 20 years ago.

She was a communicant of St. Rita's Church in Marion.

Mrs. Lavallee was the proprietor of Sandy's Salon 33 on South Main Street in Worcester for many years until her retirement. After retiring, she served as a hairdresser for the residents of Oxford Terrace in Fairhaven.

Her hobbies included oil painting, china painting, sculpturing, and doll making. She was an avid member of the National Doll Makers Guild.

Survivors include 2 daughters, Caroline Horton of Marion, and Janet Lavallee Horton of Mattapoisett; a son, Stephen A. Lavallee of Fairhaven; a brother, Joseph Sztuba of Grafton; a sister, Lillian Moore of Shrewsbury; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.She was the sister of the late Casimir Sztuba.

Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Rd. (Rt. 6), Mattapoisett, Tuesday February 26, 2002 at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in St. Rita's Church, Marion at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Committal Paryers will be held in the Chapel at Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester Tuesday at 1 PM. Visiting hours Monday February 25, 2002 from 4-8 PM.
