Obituary

Leo G. Duquette, 79, of Westport died Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the beloved companion of Claire J. Battles.

Born in Fall River, son of the late Leo A. and Clara E. (LaFlamme) Duquette, he was a lifelong resident of Westport. A veteran of the Korean War, he served his country in the United States Army. Prior to retirement, he was a superintendent for Gladding & Hearn Shipbuilding in Somerset. Mr. Duquette was a Communicant of St. George Church, Westport and was a member of the American Legion Post 145, Westport and the VFW Ouellette Post 8502, Westport. He enjoyed golfing and woodworking.

Survivors including his companion are 4 sons: Robert A. Duquette and his wife Suzanne of New Bedford, George T. Duquette and his wife Suzanne of Marlboro, MA, Steven Owens and his wife Heidi of Clarkville, TN and James D. Owens and his wife Lucia of Fall River; 3 brothers: Roland J. Duquette of FL, Armand R. Duquette of FL and Paul M. Duquette of FL; 2 sisters: Theresa Hadad of Portsmouth, RI and Claudette Steadman Bisson of Westport; 12 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be Monday, May 21, 2012 from the Potter Funeral Home at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.

Calling hours Sunday 4 – 7 P.M.

Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
