Marie "Mary" Bertolino, age 92, a resident of Somerville for most of her life passed away peacefully with her family by her side on May 12th, following a lengthy period of declining health. She was the beloved wife of 46 years to the late Frank Bertolino. Born in Everett she was one of three daughters of the late Angelo and Maria Antonia (Rubino) Barraco.
Mary as she was affectionately known to her family and friends was a retired credit manager for the former S.S. Pierce Company of Boston where she worked for 33 years. Mostly devoted to her loving family, Mary enjoyed nothing more than being surrounded by her family and especially enjoyed cooking and baking for them around holidays and any family gathering. Mary loved to travel and especially enjoyed her trips to Italy. She also looked forward to spending time with her family at their second home on Swift's Beach in Wareham where over the years together with her family and friends they would make many lasting and fond memories. Mary was also active at the Somerville Senior Center on Cross St., for many years.
In addition to her late husband and parents, Mary is predeceased by her granddaughter, Joanne Presti, and great granddaughter, Alyssa Presti.
She is survived by her devoted children, Camille Presti and her husband Joe of Burlington, Peter Bertolino and his wife Dorothy of Bellingham, Annette Presti and her husband Peter of Billerica. She is also survived by ten loving grandchildren and eighteen loving great grandchildren. She is further survived by her sisters, Frances Mangano of Holbrook and Joanne Rodriguez of Wareham, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Tuesday, May 22nd, at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Margaret's Church, 109 Winn St., Burlington, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday from 4 thru 8 p.m. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Marie's memory to the Alzheimer's Assoc., 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
