George D. Halfhill, 71, of Linlew Drive, Derry, NH died Saturday February 23, 2002 at the St. Joseph Hospital, Nashua, NH following a lengthy illness. Mr. Halfhill was born on May 14, 1930 in Benton, OH, a son of the late Harvey and Mary Belle (Spake) Halfhill. He was a resident of Derry, NH since 1990, formerly living in Jericho, VT. He was a retired 20-year veteran of the US Air Force having served during Vietnam. He was a lifetime member of the VFW. He was also employed by IBM, Essex Junction, VT, for 13 years, retiring in 1990.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Margaret (Bergeron) Halfhill, two daughters, Mrs. Richard (Laura) DiPasquale, Lorna Halfhill, two grandchildren, Danielle DiPasquale, Richard DiPasquale, all of Derry, NH, three brothers, Dale Halfhill, Mt. Gilead, OH, Jay Halfhill, Millersburg, OH, Dean Halfhill, Wooster, OH, one sister, Audrey Henderson, Millersburg, OH, many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday February 27, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday February 28, 2002 at 10:00am at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Crystal Avenue, Derry. Cremation will follow. Burial will be in Vermont.
