Albert C. Banks, age 86, of Ledyard died Saturday, May 12, 2012 at Pendleton Healthcare in Mystic.
Born February 1, 1926, in Noank he was the son of George and Alice (Horton) Banks.
His wife, Jeanne Banks predeceased him in 2009.
He served in the U.S. Army for 20 years, retiring in 1966. Following his military career, he worked as an outside machinist at Electric Boat for 20 years.
He is survived by his son, Stephen and his wife Josephine, a daughter, Deborah Provencher, a daughter Sandra Warner and her husband Roger Warner; six grandhilcren, Timothy Brewer, Stacey Banks, Allison Provencher, Douglas Warner, Ashley Provencher and Kellie Palmer; two great granddaughters, Payton Brewer and Raegan Palmer.
A Graveside service with presentation of military honors will be conducted on Friday at 12noon at Elm Grove Cemetery, Rte. 27, Mystic. Donations in his memory may be made to the Disabled Veterans Association, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati OH 45250.
