Druan, Walter P. Sr. of Marshfield, May 14, 2012 at the age of 85. Beloved husband of Barbara A. Druan (McKeeman). Loving father of Walter P. Druan Jr. and his longtime companion Jean Atkinson of Worcester, Susan M. Ortiz and her husband Arturo of Scituate, Michael J. Druan of Taunton and Carol A. Kerry and her husband Donald of Marshfield. Loving grand father of Melanie, Roxanne, Patrick and Michael Druan, Tim Druan and Jordan and Alex Ortiz. Great grand father of 7. Dear brother of Robert, Frank and Helen Druan and the later Ernest Druan Jr. Son of the late Ernest and Mary (Loney) Druan. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Walter was born and raised in Dorchester. He graduated from Boston Trade School. Walter summered in Marshfield for 9 years and he has been a permanent resident for 47 years. Walter was the Deputy Director of Civil Defense in Marshfield as well as the Captain of Auxiliary Police in Marshfield. He was a chauffer for Mayor Curley in Boston and was the owner and operator of Marshfield Cab for over 25 years. Walter served in the U.S. Army during WWII.
Visiting hours will be held at the MacDonald Funeral Home 1755 Ocean St. Rte 139 Marshfield on Wednesday, May 16 from 4 to 8 p.m.
Interment will be held in Massachusetts National Cemetery Bourne on Thursday, May 17 at 11:30 a.m.
