Rosemary Fulmer Mayor of Clarksville, passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2012. She was 86 years old.
A celebration of her life will be on Thursday, May 17th at 3 p.m., at Grace Lutheran Church, with Pastor Larry Peters officiating. Burial will be held on Friday at 10 a.m., at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral at Grace Lutheran Church.
Rosemary was born May 23, 1925 in Savannah, GA to the late Hoyt Leslie Fulmer and Martha Emily (Mattie) Gregory Fulmer. She was a 1946 graduate of Meredith College in Raleigh, NC.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Lt. Col Albert Mayor Jr. USAF.
Rosemary was a long-time member of Grace Lutheran Church and was employed by the Montgomery County School System for over 30 years. She was an accomplished artist and very active in her church, Historical Society, Audubon Club, Home Demonstration Club, and Officers' Wives Club.
She is survived by daughter, Theresa Mayor Smith (Lee) of Cadiz; sons, Alan Leslie Mayor of Nashville, Kenneth Albert Mayor of Clarksville; granddaughter, Allison Leora Smith of Clarksville; grandson, Parker Albert Smith of Murray, KY; a sister, Eleanor Fulmer Hedrick of Asheville, NC; sister-in-law, Augusta Cothran Fulmer of Columbia, SC; and two nieces, Leslie Hedrick Morris of Asheville, NC and Jean Fulmer Pickney of Columbia, SC, and a nephew, Steven Cothran Fulmer also of Columbia, SC.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, to the Rosemary Fulmer Mayor College Scholarship Fund, or Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.
