Obituary

WEBSTER – Caryl P. (Wayman) Poblocki, 98, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 12, 2012 at her home after a period of declining health. Her husband of 40 years, Anthony J. Poblocki, died in 1984.
She leaves many nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, including Caryl P. Savard and her husband Norbert with whom she lived, and Susan P. Perry and her husband William of Woodstock, CT; she also leaves Nancy and Allen Smith, part of the “Smith kids” for whom she had a special affection. She was preceded in death by 5 sisters, Blanche Wayman, Margery Lawida, Winnifred Wayman, Enid Plante and Jean Smith and by 4 brothers, Charles Henry Wayman, William Frederick Wayman, Robert Eaton Wayman and Kenneth Hollister Wayman. She was also predeceased by a special brother Carleton Wayman and by special nieces Caryl and Cynthia Smith.
She was born in Webster, the youngest daughter of Charles W. and Winifred S. (Junkins) Wayman and lived here all her life. She graduated from Bartlett High School in 1932.
She worked as a secretary for Headway Shoe and at American Woolen mill. She also went to Finland to organize the office for Joseph Crowley’s textile mill there. She retired in 1976.
Mrs. Poblocki was a member of the United Church of Christ, Federated, a former member, past president and past district deputy of the Webster Emblem Club and a former member of the Dramuda Club. She volunteered for the Mass. Women’s Corps in World War II and took rain measurements from Webster Lake in the 1940’s for a weather station. She was named Miss Webster in 1934. She ran minstrel shows at her church for several years.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, May 21, in the United Church of Christ, Federated, 4 Church Street. Burial will be private in Mount Zion Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Donations may be made to either United Church of Christ, Federated, 4 Church St., or to VNA of Southern Worcester County, PO Box 368, both in Webster, MA 01570 or to Tri-Valley Elder Care Services, 10 Mill St., Dudley, MA 01571. Arrangements are under the direction of Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., Webster.
