Obituary

WORCESTER-Helen A. (Personis) Hannon, of 27 Wyola Drive died Thursday, April 22nd in St. Vincent Hospital. Her husband Charles T. Hannon, Sr., a retired Worcester firefighter died in 1954. She leaves her son Charles T. and his wife Carole F. Hannon of Auburn, 4 daughters, Helen B. wife of Frank X. Sepuka of Auburn, Maryann and Kathleen A. Hannon with whom she lived and Cynthia T. wife of Kenneth W. Paradis of Auburn, a beloved sister Julia Skaff of Worcester, 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren, nephews and nieces. 4 brothers William, John, George and Walter Personis and 2 sisters Monica Sullivan and Melvina “Lena” Mullins predeceased her.

She was born in Worcester the daughter of William and Melvina (Balcavicius) Personis and had worked for the former John C. McInnis department store and later as seamstress at Holy Cross College. Mrs. Hannon was a member of Sacred Heart Parish, and a longtime volunteer at the Worcester City Hospital Fall Fair.

The funeral is Monday, April 26th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart Church, 600 Cambridge Street. Burial is in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday, April 25th from 4:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home. Flowers may be sent or contributions made to the Auburn District Nurses, 191 Pakachoag Street, Auburn, MA 01501.
