Anna Deering Stevens passed away in her home on May 10, 2012 following a brief illness. She was surrounded by family and went peacefully to rejoin her beloved husband, Russell. Anna led a full and wonderful life and will be missed by many; to know Anna, even for the briefest of moments, was to love her. She was involved in the community of Derry that she loved dearly and was one of the first women on the Derry school board. Some of her fondest memories were of square dancing the night away, summers at Winnipesaukee, her times at White Pines College and those spent with her family.
Those who will keep Anna’s memory alive include: son Hal and his wife Lana of South Carolina, daughter Cindy and her husband Ron of Florida, 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and more extended family and friends than could ever be listed. For all who loved and cared for her, her deepest wishes upon her passing were to always rejoice in her life rather than focus on the few moments of her passing.
Friends and family are invited to a tribute in celebration of her life, held in Manchester, NH on Monday, May 14th. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Derry Heritage Commission and mailed to the Derry Heritage Commission c/o Derry Municipal Building, 14 Manning Street, Derry, NH 03038. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium are assisting the family with arrangements.
