Domenic “Tom” DiBonaventura, 91, of Sprague Street, Greenville, died Wednesday at his home. He was the husband of the late Bernice J. (McKenzie) DiBonaventura.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Giovanni and Vincenza (Testa) DiBonaventura. He had lived in Smithfield for over 30 years.
He was a WWII Army Air Corps veteran He had worked for RI Hospital Trust before retiring. He was an accomplished accordion player. He was a volunteer for the St. Vincent dePaul Food Bank and a communicant of St. Philip Church.
He is survived by his children Claire A. Bilida of Warwick, Lawrence Bilida of Riverside, three grandchildren: Walter, Valerie and Sarah and a great granddaughter, Elana Paige, his siblings: Rocco DiBonaventura, Amelia Mancini and his faithful K9 companion, Cassie. He was the brother of the late Peter DiBonaventura and Joseph Bonaventura.
Funeral Tuesday at 8:30am from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville, RI 02828. Burial in Highland Memorial Park. Visitation Monday 5-7pm. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Vincent dePaul Society, c/o St. Philip Church.
