Richard "Rick" John Summers, 70 of Clarksville, died Thursday May 10, 2012 at his residence.
Rick was born November 5, 1941 in Santa Barbara, CA. the son of Clifford Wayne Summers and Isabell Henritta Overstreet Summers. Rick was preceded in death by his parents, twin brother; Ronald Summers, two sisters Kathy DeMontmorency and Dorothy Roseberg.
He was a Baptist . His special intrest was photography and did photography work for Governor's Square Mall as it was being built , Vanderbilt and Baptist Hospitals during progression of their renovations. He retired in 1981 with 21 years military service, 10 years with the Army and 11 years in the Air Force serving in La Os, Vietnam, Europe, Sadi Arabia. He was a heavy equipment mechanic. he loved gardening and never met a stranger.
He is survived by his wife; Bertha Lou Young Summers, two sons; Wayne Summers and Scott Summers all of Clarksville, one brother; Donald Summers of Montana, three grandchildren; Jeremy Summers, Hanna Summers and Daphanie Freeman.
Visitation will be Sunday May 13, 2012 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM and Monday 11:00 AM until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Funeral service will be Monday 12:00 PM at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Rev. Howard Brown and John Lyle officiating. Burial will be at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West with Military Honors.
