Janet (Carey) Cournoyer 65, of Bellingham Rd. died Tuesday at Women and Infants Hospital. She was the devoted and loving wife of Marcel Cournoyer. Born in Woonsocket, she was the daughter of the late Clement and Blanche (Cabana) Carey. Janet was an assembler at A.T. Cross for over twenty years, retiring in 2010. She was an avid reader and loved to travel, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Besides her husband of forty six years she is survived by a son David Cournoyer and his wife Lisa of Millville, MA, two daughters Debora Connor and her husband Christopher of Worcester, MA, and Donna Grossmann and her husband Joseph of Magnolia, DE, a brother Normand Carey of Manville, RI, and eight grandchildren, Anthony, Trinity, David, Joshua, Ryan, Alisha, Patrick, and Maranda.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 10:00 AM, in St. John Vianney Church, Diamond Hill Rd. Cumberland, RI. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham, MA. In lieu of flowers donations to Visiting Nurse Home Care, 6 Blackstone Valley Place , Suite #115, Lincoln, RI 02865, or Women & Infants Program in Oncology, c/o Women & Infants Development Foundation,101 Dudley St. Providence, RI 02905 in her memory would be appreciated.
