Obituary

Thomas J. Morrissey, 81, of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 7th in the Meadows of Leicester. He joins his beloved wife of 44 years, Jane (Shannon) Morrissey who died in 2001. He leaves two sons, Patrick J. Morrissey of Jacksonville, FL and Terence S. Morrissey of Rutland who was also his best friend; three daughters, Eileen F. Sutton of Worcester, Margaret M. Brady and her husband, Terence of Holbrook and Ann E. Russell of Sterling; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; 3 sister-in-laws; a brother-in-law and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Adamski and a grandson, Michael.
Mr. Morrissey was born in Worcester the son of Patrick and Margaret (McHugh) Morrissey. Tom was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War as Military Police and a medic. He had a long, successful career in the supermarket industry where he was admired and love by so many people. He gave us love, strength, determination, humor and joy. He will be missed forever.
Calling hours are Saturday, May 12th from 2:00 until 5:30 PM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a service to follow at 5:30 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
