Maryann Shay, 54, a life-long resident of Lawrence passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 5th, 2012 at her home.
She was born on September 15th, 1957 in Lawrence to the late William and Lillian (Howshan) Shay. Maryann was a parishioner of Saint Joseph's Melkite Catholic Church in Lawrence. She worked for 20 years as an CNA for the Mary Immaculate Nursing/Restorative Center and as a VNA for the Andover Visiting Nurses.
According to her family she enjoyed Bingo and loved taking care of the horses at the Rockingham Race track, it was her passion.
Maryann is survived by her children Ryan Shay of Lowell, MA and Meghan Shay of Tyngsboro, MA
her sister Lisa C. Shay of Fitchburg, MA.
her aunt Evelyn Del Monico of Lawrence, MA
her beloved friend Bill Berry of Lawrence, MA.
As well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles and close friends.
Maryann was predeceased by her son Joseph Michael Shay
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to call on Monday, May 14th, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the John Breen Memorial Funeral Home, Inc., 122 Amesbury Street, Lawrence, MA.
