Blanton Prince, 72, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, April 22, 2004 at Tift Regional Medical Center, Tifton, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M., Saturday, April 24, 2004, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald, Georgia, with Rev. Kelly Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7:00 to 9:00 Friday evening.
Mr. Prince was born April 13, 1932, in Grady County, Georgia, to the late Arthur and Blonnie Norton Prince. He lived in the community since 1960 from Cairo. Mr. Prince graduated from Cairo High School and received his finance education from Florida State University and Valdosta State College. He was Co-Owner/Operator of Colony City Finance and worked for twenty-six years at Consolidated Loan Company, both in Fitzgerald. Mr. Prince served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Fitzgerald, the Elks Club and the Kiwanis Club.
Mr. Prince is survived by his wife: Norma L. Prince, Fitzgerald; one son: Steven A. Prince, Macon; two daughters & sons-in-law: Anne Prince and Mitch Ashley, Social Circle, GA and Kim Prince and Dr. Wayne Sida, Greenwood, SC; six grandchildren: Kaitlyn Prince, Annalee and Caroline Ashley, Madison, Mackenzie and Evan Sida; two brothers: Wallace Prince, St. Mary’s, GA and Edwin Prince, Panama City, FL. He was preceded in death by two bothers, Candler Prince and Arthur Prince, Jr. and one sister, Janice Campbell.
