OXFORD - Cynthia M. “Cindy” (Gamel) Barney, 64, of Oxford, died Saturday, May 5, 2012 in Harrington Healthcare at Hubbard after being stricken ill at home.
She leaves a son, Christopher T. Barney and his wife Tina Press of East Falmouth; a daughter, Amie J. Dussault and her husband Scott of Oxford, with whom she lived; 2 grandsons, Thomas J. McDonald and Matthew J. Dussault; 2 great grandchildren, Mikayla-Marie and Jayden; a sister, Sandra L. Saletnik and her husband Gene of Bedford, NH; and 2 nephews.
She was born in Webster, the daughter of Thomas L. and Florence T. (Gwiazdowski) Gamel and lived in Webster until moving to Oxford in 2008. She graduated from Bartlett High School.
Cindy worked as an aide at Worcester State Hospital for 28 years before retiring.
Funeral services will be private. There are no calling hours. Donations in her name may be made to the Mass. Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA), 1577 Falmouth Road, Centerville, MA 02632. Arrangements are under the direction of Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main St., Webster.
