James A. Schena, of Medford, died Wednesday at home in the company of his loving family. He was 85.
Born and raised in East Boston, Mr. Schena was the son of the late Antonio and the late Rose Schena. A Medford resident for many years, James was a construction laborer with Local 22 for over 50 years.
The beloved husband of the late Margaret (D’Angelo), he was a loving long-time companion to Norma Monaco. The devoted father of James Schena, Jr. and his wife Linda of Medford, Robert Schena and his wife Christine of North Reading and the late Rose Schena, he was a loving grandfather to Jessica Bellino of Medford, Christian Schena of Methuen, Rene Ward of Reading and leaves eight great-grandchildren. He was the dear brother of Anthony Schena of Melrose, Mary Nichols of Ipswich, Ann DeAngelis of Amherst and the late Josephine Gallo.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Monday, May 7, at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 9 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family, Sunday 4 – 8 PM.
