Obituary

Fall River – Irene (Santos) Ruddy, 83, of Briggs Road, Westport, died Wednesday, April 21, 2004 at the Highlander Rehabilitation and Nursing Home after a long illness. She was the wife of Patrick E. Ruddy for the past 54 years who were known as “The Farmers”.

She was born in Fall River, daughter of the late Amos and Evelyn (Correira) Santos, and was a lifelong resident of Westport. Prior to her retirement she was a seamstress for Laura Drapery in Fall River.

Mrs. Ruddy was a communicant of St. George Church, Westport and was a member of the Faunce Corner Health Center in Dartmouth.

In addition to her husband she is survived by 2 sons: Charles P. Ruddy of St. Petersburg, FL and Raymond J. Ruddy of Kissimmee, FL; 4 brothers: Antone Santos of Fall River, John Santos of Fall River, Noel Santos of Fall River and Amos Oliveira of Fall River; 3 sisters: Alma Blais of Westport, Beatrice Lima of Westport and Jerry Bean of Port Smith, AR; 4 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be from the POTTER FUNERAL HOME, 81 Reed Road, Westport, Saturday, April 24, 2004 at 9 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.

Calling hours Friday 5 – 8 P.M.

Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
